Welcome to the home page of Theseus, the incredible maze-navigating robot! Created by Ayla Solomon, Cidney Hamilton, and Sarah Shiplett for Robotic Design Studio 2007 at Wellesley College, Theseus is a small robot that can navigate its way through a maze. It searches each room (following a simple left-hand-on-the-wall algorithm) to find the "Minotaur" (drawn on a piece of white paper). Theseus is also the prototype for Sarah and Ayla's future entry into the Firefighting Robot Contest at Trinity College. While there wasn't enough time in a three-week class to build a robot that could actually snuff out fires, we did take this opportunity to hone Theseus's maze-navigating skills.
