Standing and Sitting

A counterweight hung over a gear connected to a motor allows Lucy to sit and stand.

Process:

Construction
Lucy has two positions- sitting and standing. A small section of plastic lego tracks are glued to the back of her torso; these snap into more tracks which run over a gear train and motor attached to the back of the plastic bin on which she sits. The track continues behind the box and two batteries are attached to the end to provide weight balance for the robot as she moves up and down.
