The End
And so began the worst day of our lives...
4:30 p.m.
Our project is set up and ready to go (or so we think). The motors are running smoothly, the sensors are working, the crocodile costume is in place. Unfortunately, we did not plan for the participation of adults.
4:35 p.m.
An adult male, fists at the ready, decides to participate.
4:37 p.m.
Sanja is back in the classroom, frantically attempting to reassemble the sensor on the top of the crocodile. It had been knocked off its Lego piece. Sadly, this scene would be replayed several times over the course of the evening.
5:00 p.m.
This time, the HandyBoard crashes. Completely.
5:01 - 5:29 p.m.
After a frantic rebooting (thanks for helping, Aleja!), the HandyBoard is tested again. It crashes AGAIN. This time, Erika and Sanja decide to switch HandyBoards. The crocodile is reassembled, sensors are reinforced with hot glue, and the crocodile is brought back into the exhibit area. In the meanwhile, Lincy is busy bribing the children with candy.
5:30 - 6 p.m.
The crocodile performs as expected, albeit slower. No further mishaps happen, though the HandyBoard, not having been charged, starts dying towards the end. All in all, the adrenaline rush was pretty cool.
In Conclusion
It was fun while it lasted. The food was good.
